Saraki also call on the leaders in the area to play their part and ensure through mediation that this menace is comprehensively quelled.

He urged the group to borrow a leaf from past militants leaders who were open to dialogue with the government and look for peaceful solutions as violence is not always the best.

Niger delta Avengers is a new militant group that has claimed responsibility for blowing up and attacking oil and gas installations, chevron, shell and Agip in return for a sovereign state of Niger Delta.

The group had earlier rejected an offer of talks with the Nigerian government; according to them their main objective  to liberate the people of Niger delta from what they described as decades  of divisive rule and exclusion.
